Role: Founding Designer
Location: New York City, (Onsite – 4 days/week in office)
Compensation: $160k–$225k base + Equity
YOE: 3+ years in product designer shipping high-ownership work

About the role
- Design internal case-management tools that supercharge the legal operations team.
- Build partner law-firm portals that improve transparency and control.
- Create client experiences that make legal workflows simple, clear, and human.
- Shape Finch’s early design system and defining core quality standards.
- Develop product foundations in close collaboration with product, engineering, and leadership.
Requirements / Who is the ideal fit
- 4–6+ years of product design experience with a history of shipping high-ownership work.
- Comfort working in ambiguous 0→1 environments with speed and intention.
- Strong balance between craft and iteration, knowing when to polish and when to move fast.
- Systems thinking ability to simplify and untangle complex user flows.
- Flexibility to work across product, brand, and visual design.
- Deep commitment to making complex systems feel simple, human, and intuitive.
