About Us
We are one of the world’s largest connectivity chip companies — and the leading supplier of chips in intelligent toys today. Our technology powers millions of devices, from AI companions to educational robots, bringing imagination and intelligence to life.
We collaborate with top experts in child development from universities including Yale to design toys and robots that improve children’s language and cognitive abilities with proven research.
Role
We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented Industrial Designer to help us bring our next AI-powered toy prototype from concept to reality. This is a project-based role, ideal for someone with experience in toy design, consumer electronics, or robotics.
Responsibilities
- Translate product requirements (AI features, touchscreen, moving arms, sensors) into a safe, engaging, child-friendly physical design.
- Develop initial sketches, mood boards, and 3D models that capture both playfulness and practicality.
- Select materials (plush, plastics, fabrics, coatings) that balance safety, durability, and cost.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure housing can integrate electronics (PCB, motors, display, battery, speakers).
- Create prototypes (3D printed shells, foam models, mock-ups) to test ergonomics and appeal.
- Refine designs based on feedback from team, researchers, and early user testing.
- Support preparation for manufacturing handoff (basic CAD files, surface finish guidance).
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in industrial design
- Strong skills in sketching, CAD (SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion360, or similar), and prototyping.
- Understanding of child-safety standards (CPSIA, CE, or similar).
- Ability to balance creativity with engineering feasibility.
- Passion for creating products that inspire imagination and learning.
Nice to Have
- Experience with moving parts, robotics, or interactive toys.
- Familiarity with UI/UX for small touchscreens.
- Knowledge of rapid prototyping methods (3D printing, soft models, etc.).
What We Offer
- Project-based contract with flexible schedule.
- Opportunity to design a first-of-its-kind AI toy grounded in child development research.
- Collaboration with a leading semiconductor company, researchers at top universities, and a team at the intersection of AI, education and robotics
