Position Overview
The Designer, High Jewelry is responsible for the creation of Tiffany & Co.’s rich heritage and the codes and values of the house. The Designer, High Jewelry should exhibit knowledge of the company’s history and possess curiosity and a strong passion for creation, resulting in a contemporary aesthetic that maintains brand integrity. The Designer will conduct historical research, ideate, design and present projects that meet business needs. This role will be responsible for monitoring the technical development of their projects, working in conjunction with workshops, model makers and CAD professionals to ensure design intent is conveyed, properly understood and met in finished goods. This position is based at our Corporate Headquarters in New York, NY.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Design & Concept Development
- Uphold and interpret Tiffany & Co.’s heritage, design codes, and brand values within all High Jewelry creations.
- Conduct historical research, ideate, design and present projects that meet business needs.
- Conduct historical and creative research to inform and inspire new collections.
- Generate sketches and creative proposals for High Jewelry pieces and special projects.
Technical Development & Execution
- Oversee the technical realization of assigned projects, ensuring design intent and craftsmanship standards are upheld.
- Partner with workshops, model makers, and CAD specialists to translate creative concepts into final pieces.
- Review prototypes and finished goods to confirm alignment with artistic vision and quality expectations.
Brand Heritage & Innovation
- Maintain deep knowledge of Tiffany’s design legacy while evolving it through a contemporary lens.
- Stay current on market trends, materials, and innovations relevant to High Jewelry design.
- Contribute to a collaborative and inspiring creative studio culture that reflects Tiffany’s standards of excellence.
Qualifications
- A degree in jewelry, industrial design or fine arts and 3-5 years of experience as a Designer in a luxury house.
- A passion for jewelry accompanied by a strong sense of creativity, aesthetic sensitivity and openness to art.
- Strong knowledge of gemology as well as jewelry manufacturing and techniques.
- Superior freehand drawing skills, gouache rendering techniques and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- A strong work ethic with passion, curiosity, humility and a willingness and desire to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
The hiring range for this position ranges from $101,575 – $137,425. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience.
