Who we are
Factor Holdings is a growing collection of companies at the forefront of performance cycling. Our designs touch every segment and category of cycling, from Olympic Gold Medals to local Tuesday night world championships. Racing is everything at Factor.
What we want
We are searching for an Industrial Designer to join a highly capable team and grow quickly. Work will start with support on smaller discrete projects, increasing in sophistication and eventually evolve into leading complete platforms. Areas of work will include but aren’t limited to, bike frames, forks, components including wheels, barstems, hubs, apparel, technical documentation and the creation of marketing and sales materials.
What we can offer
An opportunity to join and learn from one of the most innovative R&D teams in all of cycling. This includes working with Pro-tour teams, professional and Olympic riders at the top of the industry.
A goal-oriented workflow with flexible hours of work. Being a global team, 9-5 is not part of our vernacular.
We are a small agile team that each individually owns their respective projects. You will have the opportunity to touch all aspects of the design process and not be pigeonholed into a single lane.
What we expect from you
To work in the fast-paced environment a designer must be self motivated, ambitious and have a will to win. We expect excellence in everything we deliver. We work in a high-output and high-reward culture.
- Proactive Collaboration: Our team is fast paced, highly interconnected and spans multiple time zones, continents and languages. Be prepared to be responsive to team needs. Flexibility keeps us moving fast.
- Action orientated and accountable: You’ll need to ask questions and be proactive about finding solutions.
- Dedication and perseverance: We work the way our athletes train. The demands for performance are high, and our team delivers. Be prepared to sprint and attack from day one.
- Humility. Our design process is heavily iterative and highly scrutinized by some of the best riders and minds in cycling. We are quick and responsive to market shifts. Expect to transition quickly between projects at moments notice and sometimes leave them behind for good.
- Communication/Documentation: Be prepared to defend and explain your work. Being both global and decentralized means that the team often needs to lay out concepts and address issues in a virtual forum. You will be responsible for engaging with the larger team for buy-in. Quick and effective visualization will be a key to build the trust and confidence needed for both the teams and your individual success.
