Compensation Range: $50 - 55 per hour

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Packaging/Industrial Designer to join our client's team!

In this role, you will be responsible for developing concepts and design specifications, advising on artwork based on printing methods, generating promotional packaging specifications, testing for structural integrity, managing supplier and co-packer relationships, and interfacing with various internal and external groups to bring each project to market.

Responsibilities:

Create temporary promotional packaging materials and pre-packed retail merchandise vehicles that withstand supply chain handling and deliver exceptional visual impact.
Ensure that designs adhere to customer guidelines and exceed the expectations of marketing teams, factories, purchasing, quality assurance, co-packers, customers, and shoppers.
Work closely with co-workers, vendors, and factories to lead structural design as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Foster strong working relationships to ensure seamless project execution.
Develop and provide innovative, structurally sound, and cost-effective pre-packed merchandise vehicles that effectively convey product features and benefits to shoppers, driving trial, sales, and brand awareness.
Manage formal ship testing to ensure compatibility between product, packaging material, structural integrity, and assembly within the retail supply chain.
Propose and implement continuous improvements to existing POP vehicles, focusing on material and labor reductions, as well as structural enhancements.
Assist Merchandising Specialists throughout the display development process, from concept to successful manufacturing, co-packing, and deployment.
- Responsibilities include ideation, project development, specification generation, vendor management, ship testing, and on-site support at co-packers for start-ups.
Collaborate with various teams, including Brand, Sales, Project Managers, external Structural Designers, Graphic Designers, Internal Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Vendor Partners, to ensure cohesive project outcomes.
Exhibit strong multi-tasking abilities and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and demands.
Be willing and available to travel, sometimes on short notice, to meet project requirements.

Qualifications:

Experience level: Experienced
2-3 years of structural corrugated experience (Corrugated material, Secondary packaging).
Must be local to St. Louis or willing to work remotely.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel.
Savvy with web-based tools.
