Pair Eyewear is seeking a CAD Designer to support our eyewear design and development efforts with a primary focus on 3D data for eyewear design and development of existing and new products. In this position, your responsibilities will include the generation of new CAD models from Industrial design sketches and R&D concepts into functional CAD and related drawings to facilitate prototyping and product development.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and maintain detailed 3D models of components and assemblies for product development.
- Produce clear technical drawings, including dimensions, tolerances, and materials specifications.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to brainstorm, conceptualize, and iterate on product designs.
- Conduct design reviews to gather feedback and make necessary revisions for design optimization.
- Create prototypes or proof-of-concept models to validate design concepts and functionality.
- Perform analysis, simulations, and testing as needed to validate design integrity and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to bring new innovative eyewear concepts to life.
- Assist in the development of new eyewear products while considering fit, comfort, and performance.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products, utilizing this knowledge to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge in the eyewear market.
Who You Are:
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communicator, both verbally and visually (e.g., through sketching), with excellent written skills.
- Collaborative and able to work well with cross-functional teams.
Need to Have:
- Proficient in 3D modeling and CAD software, such as SolidWorks, Rhino etc.
- Bachelor's degree or greater in engineering, product design, or related field.
- Basic understanding of optics with strong algebra skills.
- Mastery of use of shop tools and equipment.
- Highly competent computer skills and use of software such as MS Office, Adobe etc.
- Strong project management abilities, including on-time delivery.
Nice to Have:
- Industrial Design experience.
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.
- Exposure to rapid prototyping, 3D printing, 3D scanning.
- 3D rendering experience with Keyshot.
- Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools.

At Pair, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. The pay range for this position is expected to be between $76,000 - $85,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
