This is a 6-month Spring Co-op for 2025. Expected start date is January through June. This will be a 100% on-site Co-op position, based in Burlington, MA location.
MilliporeSigma is seeking a passionate Industrial Design spring co-op who can take initiative and make things happen by bringing a compelling and unique perspective to user centered design thinking and creative problem solving. Contagious energy and a desire to learn the many facets of the design process is a must. As part of our Life Science product development R&D team you’ll collaborate with our multidisciplinary group of designers, engineers, and scientists to tackle and solve a range of technical and creative challenges.
The ideal candidate has the ability to create meaningful and exciting designs while being sensitive to manufacturing methods and technical constraints. Curiosity and is encouraged and valued as you’ll actively participate in many different areas of the product development process.

Key Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Effective visual communication skills, e.g. sketching, model making, etc
- Creative thinker with the ability to solve complex problems while thinking outside the box
- Skillful hands-on prototyping abilities, e.g. 3D printing, machining, assembly, etc
- Excellent 3D modeling craftsmanship (Solidworks preferred but not required)
- Efficient 3D rendering abilities (Keyshot preferred but not required)
- Great command of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design, etc)
- Knowledge or an interest in learning UI prototyping software (Figma, Adobe XD, etc)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Team oriented as well as the ability to take instruction and work independently
- A self-managing, motivated, plus an optimistic outlook is a must.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a full time BA/BS or MS degree program in Product Development, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A fresh, original portfolio of diverse creative work along with your resume.
- Authorization to work within the United States
