Summary: The Industrial Designer will will collaborate with design team members, responsible for overseeing product development projects for the housewares and home decor industry as a strong individual contributor on both strategic and execution level. Their duties will include being the “point person” responsible for driving cross-functional development initiatives.

What You Will Do
- Work with Design Director to lead creative process for projects in all phases of development, from early conceptual work to complete CAD drawings specs.
- Compiling trend presentations that will guide project guidelines; Collect trend inspiration from trend publications, online resources, vendor catalogs and trade shows.
- Collaborate with Sales and Leadership teams on identifying product opportunities and trends.
- Sketching, 3D renderings to communicate product vision for internal review and retail presentations.
- Ability to prepare detailed CAD drawings and/or tech packs for quotation and development purposes.
- Create 3D geometry used for prototyping to test size and fit.
- Review / approve / comment on prototypes and approval samples
- Collaborate with Sourcing and Product Development to ensure product successfully meets objectives.
- Occasional travel may be required to manufacturing sites and trade shows to implement, develop, identify new capabilities, and design for manufacturing.
What You Need To Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design required
- Five years prior experience in related field with product design experience.
- Must have proven skills performing computer assisted design duties accompanied by a portfolio of accomplishments.
- Software knowledge to includes, Solidworks, Keyshot, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office including Power Point.
- Need to have a strong knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes. Most commonly, injection molded plastics, ceramics, glass, metals and wood manufacturing.
- Need to have a working knowledge of engineering to ensure products can both execute properly and in the most cost-efficient manner.
- Must have the ability to manage project timelines independently.
- Must have a team-focused mentality and motivated to learn new skills.
- Must be a creative, analytical thinker, problem solver, who is detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Must have excellent communication skills; both verbal and written and be willing and able to effectively communicate with employees at all levels within the company.
