Job Description

As the Industrial Designer at YAT USA, you will be responsible for developing best in class product design and tool user experiences for the SENIX brand globally. In this role, you will work with the product management, marketing, and engineering teams to deliver innovative design proposals from investigative research through the development of the product and into production. In this role, you are accountable for the creative and technical detailed designs to ensure successful implementation.

Primary Responsibilities

· Product Design Investigation - Research and identify competitive ideas and future trends in the Outdoor Products and Power Tool industries, while also looking beyond into other parallel industries for inspiration.

· User Experience - Understand our customer's core needs, values and pain points and use these as a guide for designing future products in the SENIX line-up.

· Product Design Concepts - Create concepts and mockups for future production designs that aligns to the SENIX brand language, the user experience, manufacturability and cost.

· Brand DNA Owner - Collaborate with Industrial Design Team, New Product Development and Marketing teams to bring concepts to reality that builds and strengthens the SENIX brand.

· Package Design Management - Working with the Marketing, Product, and Sales team in the to develop packaging that aligns with brand guidelines and regulatory requirements.

· Provide clear design goals and schedules based on project requirements.

· Must be self-motivated, adaptable, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines.

· Manage the full project design process including VBL direction and product label placement and label execution.

· Work seamlessly with global and cross-functional teams to plan, execute and problem solve during the product development process.

· Exhibit a forward thinking and collaborative approach to design.

· Strong communication skills and ability to effectively portray your design ideas to the leadership team.

· Ability to prioritize and work on multiple project assignments and shift tasks based on the business needs.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Industrial Design or similar discipline.

· 3-5 years’ experience in industrial design with an emphasis on outdoor products, power tools or related industries.

· Foundational knowledge of the manufacturing processes of plastic, metal, rubber and other materials.

· Experience with driving a design vision and the ability to effectively present those visions to senior leaders.

· High level proficiency in the latest product design software, animation tools and business programs.

· Firm understanding of CAD surface modeling and/or 3D design systems software.

· Utilize design software such as Proe, Solidworks, Rhinoceros, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator 2020, Keyshot, C4D to produce product design drawings, from first sketches to photorealistic 3D renderings. (Proficient in using one 3D software, one rendering software, 2D sketch)

· A proven product design portfolio that demonstrates a strong technical proficiency in industrial design. Portfolio should exhibit examples of solving design problems by considering market trends, new technologies and consumer insights.

· Strong collaboration skills with multi-functional global partners.
