The Industrial Designer – Kohler Ventures will be responsible for creating innovative concepts, products, services, experiences, and human interfaces through the design process.
Specific Responsibilities
- Work very closely with all new product development departments, especially Engineering, Marketing, Purchasing, and Manufacturing, in a team atmosphere achieving new product design requirements.
- Generate a variety of unique ideas that can inspire and encourage the creation of meaningful products.
- Participate in new product development activities which include generation of new product concepts.
- Determine appropriate approaches and execute design research, product concept drawings, physical modeling, and product presentations.
- Develop new methods of physical modeling as appropriate to cost and timing factors.
- Maintain current awareness of consumer competitor product offerings including product design trends in both the U.S. and in foreign markets.
Required
Skills/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university or college of industrial design with academic emphasis on product design.
- 3+ years of demonstrably successful Industrial Design experience post-internships, delivering solutions that combine innovative creativity, technical expertise, and user-centered thinking, enabling functional and aesthetically advanced design.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a start-up or organization experiencing fast growth.
- Previous experience working globally with diverse teams.

The approved base salary range for this position is $76,050-$96,050. The actual base salary offered to a candidate may be higher than the approved range. This will vary depending on a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. This position is subject to a 16% Area Salary Differential (Cost of Living Adjustment) in the NYC metro area. The approved base salary range including ASD for this position is $88,218-$111,418 depending on location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and a special project incentive. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision and 401k.
