Job Description
This role is hybrid remote with 60% monthly in-office presence at the Mount Prospect, Illinois office (3 days in the office per week). Only local or relocatable applicants will be considered.
We are looking for an Industrial Design Intern who’s ready to dive into the world of innovation. If you’re passionate about hands-on design, exploring new concepts, and shaping the future of products, this role is for you!
- Be part of the Innovation Team and help transform wild ideas into cutting-edge product concepts.
- Get your hands dirty with user research, discovering insights, and gathering feedback to refine your creations.
- Lead exciting tool-use workshops in the Dremel UX lab, where you’ll unlock new possibilities and inspire fresh ideas.
- Fuel creativity by hosting brainstorming sessions to sketch out the next big thing in power tools.
- Work side-by-side with Marketing and Engineering to turn concepts into prototypes, storyboards, and concept designs.
- Collaborate with top industrial design agencies and product development experts to push boundaries and develop groundbreaking designs.
- Entrepreneurial/Startup thinker.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated within six months with an accredited degree in Industrial Design.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- 2D sketching tools proficiency - Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
- General knowledge in ID related software (SolidWorks, Keyshot, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
- Experience making foam mock-ups and rough prototypes to test out ergonomics and feasibility.
- Passion for creating new concepts and turning raw ideas into tangible concept designs.
- Experience with DIY projects, woodworking and making is a plus.
- Previous internship or related work experience preferred.
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug and background screen pre-employment.
- Position only open to students who will not now, nor in the future require sponsorship to work in the United States.
