Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Industrial Designer at Prepara in Ridgefield Park, NJ. The Junior Industrial Designer will be responsible for tasks such as industrial design, product design, prototyping, design thinking, and product development to create innovative kitchenware products that combine functionality and novelty.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Design and mock up packaging and presentation layouts.
- Invent, style, design 3D products and renderings.
- Assist in reviewing and providing feedback on all production approval samples and work with team overseas to correct issues of the samples before going into production.
- Design and translate products for manufacturability (Injection molding, die cutting and assembly of packaging, etc.)
- Collaborate with the team to optimize designs for better user experiences
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field
- 0-2 years working as an industrial designer with relevant industry experience
- Experiences with Solidworks & Keyshot, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign
- Knowledge of 3D printing
- Strong creative and innovative mindset
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Sketching & ideation skills
- Good to have knowledge or skill of basic shop/ power tools use
- Eager and interest to build things from scratch
