This position is exempt, full-time, and reports directly to the Design Director.
Your Role at a glance
This is an opportunity to lead and participate in initial project scoping meetings with customers and co-workers. In this role you will assist the project manager to define & refine project design criteria. The position will offer the candidate opportunities to grow within the firm and exposure to an innovative, fast-paced, and highly collaborative environment.
In your new role
· Generate iterative performative & stylistic design solutions in the form of sketches, computer models, drafting, and sample-making.
· Prepare and make design presentations to co-workers, partners, and customers.
· Prepare and make design documentation for fabrication & installation partners.
· Interact with engineering to confirm structural and code compliance.
· Attending client meetings, typically with an account manager or project manager.
· Contribute to scope of work statement that defines customer’s expectations in terms of design function and aesthetics.
What you will need to succeed:
· Curious and interested to learn.
· Significant industry knowledge relevant to industries served.
· Strong organizational skills: able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and communicate status efficiently and effectively.
· Effective listener. Good written and verbal communications skills.
· Strong visualization skills, including hand-drafting, computer aided modelling, drafting, model-making, and use of various software tools, including SolidWorks, Rhino, SketchUp.
· Ability to make clear and timely decisions.
· Calm, controlled demeanor – able to de-escalate issues and solve problems under pressure.
· Planning skills – able to anticipate customer needs, resource requirements, and proactively identify potential problems.

Turner Exhibits is committed to total compensation practices that are fair, competitive, and reflect internal pay equity. At the time of posting this job, the salary range for this position in Seattle is between $60,000 and $80,000 annually. Total compensation offers are based on experience, education, and internal pay equity between employees with like-type roles and responsibility.
