GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Industrial Designer at Warrior Sports demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the entire design process and is self-motivated and collaborative. This role involves identifying design problems and consistently generating creative solutions to enhance the performance and aesthetics of products across multiple categories, including Lacrosse Heads and Protective equipment. The designer will create product families that share technologies, manufacturing processes, and a common design language.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take a strategic and analytical approach to researching competitor products and identifying opportunities for meaningful innovation.
- Create unique and effective product concepts through sketching, brainstorming, and 3D modeling/3D printing.
- Transform conceptual ideas into tangible design proposals, considering functionality, aesthetics, and user experience.
- Work closely with development, engineering, and product managers that concepts align with product brief.
- Prepare detailed technical packets that effectively communicate designs to manufacturers.
- Collaborate and communicate with developers and the engineering team to evaluate product samples and drive to performance targets.
- Maintain comprehensive expertise in injection molding and soft good manufacturing processes, focusing on quality control and efficiency.
- Travel to Asia may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design.
- 3+ years of Industrial Design experience with a strong portfolio showcasing 3D modeling and surfacing skills (preferably in sporting goods).
- Strong understanding of injection molding design.
- High-level competence in a variety of 2D and 3D software.
- Excellent communication skills, both visually and verbally.
- Ability to multi-task and move rapidly between highly diverse projects.
- Experience managing multiple tasks through a calendar cycle.
- Proficiency in the following programs:
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe InDesign
- Microsoft Suite
- SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino for part evaluations
- Lacrosse playing experience is preferred.
