The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on design, with the ability to conduct user research and possess a deep understanding of manufacturing processes. This role requires a mechanically oriented individual who knows how things are made and can manage multiple projects simultaneously. Job Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Lead the design process from concept to production, ensuring that designs meet user needs and manufacturing requirements.
- Research: Conduct qualitative and quantitative user research to inform design decisions and improve product usability.
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective to produce.
- Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals.
- Prototyping: Create and test prototypes to validate design concepts and make necessary adjustments.
- Presentation: Develop compelling presentations to communicate design concepts and tell the story behind the designs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, engineering, and production, to bring designs to life.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed design documentation and specifications for manufacturing.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in a corporate or agency setting
- Expertise in SolidWorks, KeyShot, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft 365
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and documentation
- Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Keen sense of style and ability to create visually appealing designs
- Ability to create compelling presentations and effectively communicate design concepts
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and work environments
- Skill in creating compelling narratives to communicate design concepts and the story behind the designs
- A strong portfolio showcasing previous design work is required to apply
