About Us
Deca Defense is a deep-learning AI firm focused on solving warfighter challenges through the integration of systems engineering and advanced AI. We build serious tools for serious missions and we need sharp visuals to match.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a Graphic & 3D Design Intern who can help bring our technology to life through visual design. This role is less about marketing flash and more about technical clarity. Think 3D models, concept visuals, system diagrams, and clean, high-fidelity renders. You’ll work directly with engineers to translate technical concepts into visuals that inform and impress.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D models, concept renders, and visualizations of systems, components, and AI workflows.
- Develop technical graphics for presentations, white papers, and our website.
- Collaborate with engineers to understand and visualize complex technologies.
- Maintain a clean, professional, and consistent design style across all assets.
- Support visual storytelling with data-driven infographics and schematics.
- Help build a visual asset library that aligns with our brand and mission.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design.
- Proficient in tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya, Rhino
- Strong portfolio showcasing clean, modern design, especially for decks, websites, or technical subjects.
- Understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to take rough ideas or technical input and turn them into compelling visual content.
- Experience designing for presentations (PowerPoint, Google Slides, or similar) is a plus.
Who You Are
- A student or recent grad in 3D Design, Industrial Design, Technical Art, or a related field.
- Comfortable jumping into ambiguous technical input and turning it into something visually clear.
- You care more about technical clarity than trendy effects, and you sweat the small stuff.
- You want your work to support something meaningful, not just sell a product.
Why Join Us?
- Contribute to projects that support U.S. national defense.
- Build a portfolio that includes real-world deliverables for a mission-driven AI firm.
- Gain experience collaborating with engineers and executives on high-visibility visual assets.
